Fact Check: NO Evidence Lukashenko Flew His Family To Turkey Amid Mutiny In Russia Never Left

Did Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko send a plane with his family to Turkey, amid the mutiny in Russia? No, that's not true: There is no evidence the plane departed from Belarus carried the family members of the Belarusian leader.

The claim appeared in a video (archived here) where it was published by t.an21 on June 25, 2023. Similar claims can be found here, here and here.

The text on the video (translated from Russian to English by Lead Stories staff) reads:

As reported by Radarbox (a flight tracking company that displays aircraft and flight information in real-time), the Canadair CL-600−2B19 Challenger 850, reportedly took off from Minsk at 00:01 local time on June 24 and landed on the Turkish Mediterranean coast in Bodrum at 05:15, having made a big "detour."

The business jet is used by high-ranking officials and family members of the president of Belarus, however, there is no proof that it was indeed Lukashenko or his family members on board the flight to Bodrum, Turkey.

On June 24, 2023, Lukashenko reportedly spent the entire day engaged in talks with Russian President Putin and Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of PMC Wagner. Additionally, the Belarusian leader held two meetings with heads of security agencies and the military.

Belarusian President's eldest son, Viktor Lukashenko, who is the current president of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, visited a sports festival "Vytoki" in the city of Glubokoe on June 24, 2023
